TestingWhere do I start if I want HIV or STI testing?+
Call HOPE Health & Wellness at (469) 778-0017 to confirm current services, hours, cost and walk-in availability before you travel. If you need help finding the right program, call the AP Community Center at (214) 421-4802. Both are located at 1705 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd in Dallas.
TestingWill my visit be private?+
AP’s testing and health-access services are designed to be confidential and affirming. You can always ask what information is collected and how it will be used.
PrEP & PEPWhat is the difference between PrEP and PEP?+
PrEP is an ongoing HIV-prevention option used before possible exposure. PEP is a time-sensitive option used after a possible exposure and should be started as soon as possible, within 72 hours. Call HOPE or seek urgent medical care if PEP may be relevant.
Behavioral HealthWhat kind of behavioral-health support may be available?+
Support may include individual or group sessions, counseling, harm-reduction support, substance-use education and referrals. Call the AP Community Center to learn what is available now.
HousingHow do I know whether I qualify for housing assistance?+
Eligibility and funding can change. Call the AP Executive Office before gathering documents, and the team can explain which programs are accepting inquiries and what criteria apply.
